Kitchen Garden · Ripe purple figs and lobed fig leaves on dusty rose
Figs split open on a late-summer afternoon
Few fruits are as luxurious as a ripe fig, soft and jammy inside its purple skin. This design is warm, sensual and slightly Mediterranean. It turns a simple cheese board into a proper spread.
On the mat
Whole purple figs and halved ones showing their honeyed pink centres rest among large lobed fig leaves. The painterly still-life style blends plum, olive and blush on a dusty rose ground that glows in candlelight.
Set it with: Gold-toned cutlery, a wedge of blue cheese and a drizzle of honey.
