Blue and White · A porcelain-style garden pavilion with birds and blossom
A garden scene worthy of the china cabinet
Blue-and-white porcelain has graced tables for centuries, and a painted garden scene is its most cherished subject. We drew our own version, with a pavilion, a little bridge and birds on the wing. It lends even a simple meal an air of heirloom elegance.
On the mat
An original chinoiserie-inspired landscape shows a small pavilion, an arched footbridge, flowering branches and two birds in flight. Everything is rendered in fine indigo brush-and-ink on a white ground, like a hand-painted serving platter.
Set it with: Mismatched blue-and-white china and a single orchid.
