Blue and White · Songbirds on flowering branches in French-blue toile
Toile songbirds for a French country table
Toile de Jouy tells little stories in a single colour, and ours is all about birdsong. It is romantic without being fussy. The set looks at home in a farmhouse kitchen and just as right in a formal dining room.
On the mat
Songbirds perch on flowering branches beside small woven nests, drawn in the fine, engraved-line style of classic toile. French blue on a soft cream ground keeps it light and endlessly readable.
Set it with: Creamware plates, a linen runner and a jug of garden roses.
